1.1 Scope of Equipment
This section of IEC 60950 addresses information technology equipment that is intended for installation in an OUTDOOR setting.
The specifications for OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT also extend to applicable cases, covering EMPTY OUTDOOR ENCLOSURES that are supplied for housing IT equipment destined for outdoor installation.
1.2 Extra Requirements
Each installation may impose specific requirements, some of which are illustrated in Section 4.2. Furthermore, the standard does not encompass the additional protections needed for OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT against the impact of direct lightning strikes.
