IEC 60915:2006 applies to variable capacitors, potentiometers, and variable resistors intended for use in electronic equipment.
The dimensions specified in this standard have been chosen from IEC 60390 and IEC 60620. The ranges of dimensions in these standards were considered too broad and included too many variations for capacitors and resistors used in electronic devices.
As a result, this standard provides preferred dimensions for shaft ends, bushes, and the mounting of single-hole, bush-mounted, shaft-operated variable capacitors, variable resistors, and potentiometers. If other dimensions not covered by this standard need to be used, it is recommended to select them from the aforementioned standards.
