This section of IEC 60893 encompasses the definitions pertinent to, as well as the general requirements that must be met by, industrial rigid laminated sheets designed for electrical applications. These sheets are manufactured using any of the following resins as the binder: epoxy (epoxide), melamine, phenolic, polyimide, silicone, and unsaturated polyester. The following reinforcement materials may be employed individually or in combination: cellulose paper, cotton fabric, glass fabric, glass roving, glass mat, polyester fabric, and wood veneers.
