This section of IEC 60384 covers fixed capacitors with ceramic dielectric and a specified temperature coefficient (classified as Dielectric Class 2), which are designed for use in electronic systems. This category includes leadless capacitors but excludes fixed surface mount multilayer capacitors with ceramic dielectric.
Electromagnetic interference suppression capacitors are not included within this part of the standard; instead, they are addressed in IEC 60384-14.
