Section of IEC 60044 pertains to the latest inductive voltage transformers designed for integration with electrical measuring instruments and protective devices, operating across a frequency spectrum of 1.5 Hz to 100 Hz. While the standard primarily addresses transformers with distinct windings, it extends its applicability to autotransformers under appropriate circumstances. This standard does not govern transformers intended for laboratory use.
It is important to note that this document does not encompass specific requirements for three-phase voltage transformers. However, to the extent that such requirements are pertinent, the stipulations outlined in clauses 3 to 11 are applicable to these transformers. Additionally, some references to three-phase transformers are embedded within these clauses, such as in sections 2.1.4, 5.1.1, 5.2, and 11.2.
Clause 13 addresses the additional requirements and tests pertinent to single-phase inductive protective voltage transformers, which are not covered in clauses 3 to 12. These requirements are particularly crucial for transformers that must maintain a high degree of accuracy to function effectively in protective systems under fault conditions.
