ISO IEC TR 49794:2022 presents examples of transitioning from the formats of ISO/IEC 19794-4:2005 and ISO/IEC 19794-5:2005 to the formats of ISO/IEC 39794-4:2019 and ISO/IEC 39794-5:2019 for eMRTD applications. Additionally, it includes an implementation example for the ISO/IEC 39794-6:2021 format.
The document contains:
- Information for eMRTD issuers and vendors of eMRTD readers;
- Summarized tables of data elements from ISO/IEC 19794-4:2005, ISO/IEC 19794-5:2005, ISO/IEC 39794-4:2019, ISO/IEC 39794-5:2019, and ISO/IEC 39794-6:2021;
- Correspondence tables linking data elements between ISO/IEC 19794-4:2005 and ISO/IEC 19794-5:2005 with ISO/IEC 39794-4:2019 and ISO/IEC 39794-5:2019, which provide:
- Information on whether each data element is normative or optional, and
- A brief description of each data element from a transition perspective;
- Tag-Length-Value (TLV) data examples for ISO/IEC 39794-4:2019, ISO/IEC 39794-5:2019, and ISO/IEC 39794-6:2021 for implementation;
- Tag lists for ISO/IEC 39794-4:2019, ISO/IEC 39794-5:2019, and ISO/IEC 39794-6:2021, along with an extended example of ISO/IEC 39794-5 included as informative annexes.
The following topics are excluded from the scope of this document:
- Second and later editions of the ISO/IEC 19794 series (2011 and onwards);
- ASN.1 formats and XML formats specified in the ISO/IEC 39794 series.
